Saturday Long Run Aid Station Volunteer

We’re excited to invite you to support our runners through our 15- week marathon training program. Volunteers will play a key role in ensuring a safe and successful training session for our runners.

  • Each week we need at least two volunteers to be present at designated aid stations along the route to provide water, snacks, and first aid supplies to runners.

    • Commit to 2-3 hours between 6-10am on Saturday mornings

    • Each station will have 2 volunteers who will:

      • Set up and maintain the station.

      • Offer supplies to runners as they pass by.

      • Record any incidents or injuries, and provide assistance as needed.

  • Aid station assignments will be made 1-2 weeks in advance. Routes will vary each week, and the number of aid stations will change based on the length of the run.

  • For general volunteer questions, please email thatscrazy@girlgangcrazy.com.

Thank you for considering joining us to support our gworls. Please apply here!

FAQs

  • For 15 weeks, the GGC program progresses in mileage so each week we’ll run a little more than the previous week. The duration of the run can be up to four hours however, once each runner passes your station, you are free to pack it up.

  • GGC will provide all of the aid station necessary set- up (tables, cups, etc) but we may ask that you pick up ice and other cold items the night before. If you already have your own supplies like a table or cooler, its usually easier on everyone to bring your own.

  • No, aid station assignments will be made 1-2 weeks in advance. Routes will vary each week, and the number of aid stations will change based on the length of the run. Each aid station requires 2 volunteers. For example, long runs with 4 stations, 8 volunteers will be needed.

  • Our aid stations act as checkpoints for each of our runners and they are all equipped with first aid materials. To ensure each runner reaches the end of every long run, we encourage our runners to communicate with us via our Whatsapp Group Chat where our aid station volunteers safety updates.
